Nickel
Nickel is in widespread use and can pass through the outer protective layer of the skin very easily, from head to toe, to trigger an allergic response. Nickel is a common metal that is found in many items you wear or come in contact with at home or work. Nickel is found in: jewellery, fasteners on clothing, frames of glasses, lighters, keys and hairpins. Also in door handles, nails, screws, tools, cutlery and metal chains. Traces of nickel are also found in detergents such as washing-up liquids, 'silver' coins, pesticides, dyes and electronic equipment.
