body zones & triggers
Each person's experience with Skin Flare-Up of eczema & dermatitis is unique and the cause can be just as individual. Skin Flare-Up can be provoked by a host of trigger factors - some are irritants, and some are allergens. Food and stress can also contribute to Skin Flare-Up.

Also, for hereditary reasons, some people inherit a naturally weaker skin wall, and are therefore more likely to experience Skin Flare-Ups.

Gold is rightly called a noble metal and is not normally associated with allergy or Skin Flare-Up of eczema or dermatitis. Jewellery, on the other hand, is a common cause of skin problems. Gold and silver are very soft metals, often too soft for making clasps and fixings. So the much tougher metal nickel is mixed with the gold or silver. Unfortunately, tiny particles of nickel can pass through healthy skin and cause a reaction, resulting in a Skin Flare-Up. This is one of the most common causes of a localised small patch of Skin Flare-Up. Avoid wearing the jewellery which caused the reaction, or if it is unavoidable, it can be painted with a clear varnish or covered with tape, to prevent direct contact with the skin.
