Looking after your skin

There are 3 ways to use emollients as part of your healthy skin routine.

Emollient creams/ointments/lotions. Apply directly to the skin and use as much as you can. Cosmetic moisturisers are not really suitable for helping avoid Skin Flare-Up as they may contain perfumes. Leave at least 20 minutes between using a treatment product like Eumovate Eczema & Dermatitis Cream and applying an emollient cream like Eumobase to allow the active ingredient time to work.

Emollient bath/shower oils. Bubble baths and shower gels contain detergents that can dry the skin, removing the skin’s natural oils. Use bath oils and emollients with warm water instead, these clean the skin while preserving the skin’s natural oils.

Emollient soap substitutes. Lather is not essential to clean the skin effectively and emollient soap substitutes avoid the drying effects of soaps and detergents.
